Megalabs USA has ascquired Geologie, a dermatologist-grade brand specializing in skin, hair, and body care. The move comes on the heels of the brands’ majority investment in DS Laboratories, signaling a broader strategy to grow its consumer dermatology portfolio. While terms of the Geologie deal remain undisclosed, founders Nick Allen and Dave  Skaff will exit the business, leaving the existing brand team to integrate with Megalabs and drive initiatives in retail expansion, product innovation, marketing, and global growth.

Co-founded by entrepreneurs Skaff and Allen, and in collaboration with Dr. Steve Xu, a dermatologist, Geologie reportedly develops dermatological formulas using patented, clinical-grade ingredients designed to be easy to use and deliver measurable results.

What motivated Megalabs USA to acquire Geologie, and how does this align with your long-term strategy in the dermatology and skin care market?

With Geologie’s proven success in the U.S. market, how do you plan to leverage Megalabs’ international footprint to expand the brand globally?

Rivero: There is an increase in global desire for health and wellness-approached skin care that is clinically-tested, and Geologie is filling that consumer void. With the brand’s recent expansion into over 900 Target doors with its clinically-proven Clear System, an acne line that is BPO-Free, offering safe, gentle and effective alternatives for acne sufferers, Geologie is set to appeal to the global consumer based on proven results, cost and accessibility, and its legacy to date. Our goal is to ensure Geologie products are readily available in all markets in the Americas and worldwide by working with retailers, Megalabs subsidiaries and distributors that are highly committed to its brands.
